Coca-Cola is planning to acquire the maker of Planet Java coffee in a move to expand its portfolio of noncarbonated drinks, a fast growing area in which archrival PepsiCo. has recently made moves to expand.
The deal will see Coca Cola buying New York based P.J. Bean Co, the maker of Planet Java roasted coffee as well as ready-to-drink bottled coffee drinks.
