Chatime, the bubble tea franchise, has three more store lined up for this year which will take it up to 25, MCA has learnt.

UK managing diretcor Peter Wong said the Taiwanese brand would open in Sheffield, Coventry and Leicester next.

He said he could also open two or three more stores in late 2017, early 2018, with a second Liverpool bring targeted, as well as Leeds and Warwick.

Chatime has launched two concessionary concepts to complement its bubble tea offer – Hatch egg waffles, and Zen Q, a Japanese ‘shaved ice’ brand, which Wong hopes to roll out at Chatime sites.

The brand recently opened its 22nd store in in the Bang Bang Oriental Food Court in Colindale.

Wong told MCA: “We are hoping for a few more locations close to the end of the year, or early next year.

“We want to open a second site in Liverpool, and branch out into areas we don’t already have stores like Leeds and Warwick.”

Chatime operates in sites ranging from 90 sq ft kiosks, up to 2,000 sq ft High Street stores.

Hatch is currently being sold in Southampton and Colindale, with plant to roll out to Coventry, while ZenQ is available in Piccadilly, with plans to introduce it to new sites.

Wong added: “All of these things will help make Chatime brand stronger, they are the to support each other. Just having a beverage store on its own, especially outside London, might be enough so, having concessions gives customers more options.”
