Charnwood Pub Company, the Midlands-based multiple operator, is to become the latest group to dip into the growing BBQ trend with the launch of a new concept in Hereford, M&C Report understands.

The nine-strong group, which is led by Marc Craddock, is to convert its Hop Pole site in the town into a “slow BBQ and bar concept”, with the launch of the fast-casual format scheduled for this summer.

The company is currently looking for a head chef for the venture, which it says will have an emphasis on the “meat eater”.

Craddock, who was with Timothy Taylor for over six years, took over from Daryl Cockerill at the nine-strong, Albion Ventures-backed group, at the end of last year.

Cockerill stepped down to concentrate on his free-of-tie pub company Hillary & Scott.
