Ignite Group, the owner of the Bumpkin and Eclipse brands, is to open a branch of its award-winning private members’ club brand, Boujis, in Hong Kong early next year. The company previously teamed up with the charitable organisation Quintessentially Foundation to operate a pop up Boujis club in Hong Kong’s Sheung district over three nights last October. Ignite, which was founded by Matt Hermer and Paul Deeming, opened the original Boujis in London’s South Kensington in 2002. It also operates three Eclipse bars, including one at the W Hotel in Barcelona; the award-winning Boujis private members club; Playtime, an events space and bar in Islington; and Wyld, part of the W London Hotel in Leicester Square. It recently opened Senkai, London's first sustainably-sourced modern Japanese-inspired restaurant. Bumpkin, the restaurant chain owned by the Ignite Group, plans to open two new sites over the next six months, after launching its third site last week at Westfield Stratford, and is exploring further opportunities to expand within the M25. Ignite is believed to be in talks over a further site in the City, which it hopes to open early next year.
