Glow, Bluewater-based events venue, has launched a new theatre, comedy and music programme for this summer, as the shopping complex looks to create a significant additional revenue stream. The ‘Summer Live at Glow’ programme runs from July 26 to August 11 and will see Glow’s upper hall transformed into a 2,700-seat venue playing host to a wide range of entertainment acts appealing to adults, teenagers and young children. Highlights include performances by The Saturdays, Blake and Amelia Lily & The Loveable Rogues, and live comedy from a range of comedians starring in shows such as Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow. The programme also includes Brainiac Live! and Justin Live for teenagers and children respectively, as well as West End Anthems, Back to the 90s and Colin Fry Live, the international spiritualist medium. Venue director Michael Watton said: “As our successful trial at the end of 2012 demonstrated, there is great demand from consumers for live events at Glow, and I am confident this will create a significant additional revenue stream for us. “Summer Live, however, takes things to a new level, with a purpose-built auditorium for the first time, a critical mass of acts targeting Bluewater’s entire catchment demographic.”
