Bincho Yakitori, the Japanese restaurant set up by Ronnie Truss, former managing director of the Bank Restaurant Group and Dominic Ford, is to open its second London site. The new 118-cover outlet on Old Compton Street in Soho, London, is scheduled to be launched in mid-May. The restaurant, which will cover two floors and will include a private function room, will feature counters set around yakitori grills where customers can watch their food being cooked. The partners teamed up with chef David Miney to open the original Bincho Yakitori in the Oxo Tower last July. Ford, who also runs several other restaurants in London, recently announced that he will open a second Butcher & Grill in Wimbledon Village, which like the first site will combine a butcher shop with an informal eaterie. He is also set to launch a new food market retail store called Food Inc on the ground floor of Whiteleys in Bayswater, London, this month.
