Ernst & Young has announced the closure of 20 hotels and managed pubs previously operated by London & Edinburgh Swallow Group (LESG). Administrator Ernst & Young said that it had explored every possible avenue to save the sites in question, which include 15 pubs and five hotels, and that unfortunately no buyers had been found. Angela Swarbrick, joint administrator, said: “It is unfortunate that despite negotiation with interested parties, it has not been possible to conclude a sale of these hotels and pubs to secure their long term future. Regretfully, we are no longer able to continue trading the sites affected.” Last week, Ernst & Young announced sale of the business and assets of 240 hotels and pubs previously managed by London & Edinburgh Swallow Group (LESG) to Flodrive Group and “its joint venture partners”. The deal is subject to contract. The closure of the 20 units still leaves more than 380 sites – a mix of pubs and hotels – with administrators.
