4C Inns, the niche pub group based in the Home Counties, have shelved plans to sell the business, M&C Report understands.
It is thought that the company, which operates four tied- leasehold food pubs in Berkshire and Surrey, had sounded out potential buyers through property agents before its founders decided to withdraw it from the market.
It is thought that the group, which produces about £400,000 in annual underlying profits, was pulled from the market after offers for the group failed to meet the expectations of owners Laurence and Scott Coveney.
The group's four country inns are: the Brickmakers, Windlesham, Surrey; the Fox & Hounds at Englefield Green, Surrey; the Robin Hood, Maidenhead, Berkshire; and the Thatched Tavern in Ascot, Berkshire.
It has trimmed its estate in recent years, disposing of tied-leasehold pubs in Milton Keynes and Reading.
