The Merchant Yard in London’s Dalston is to provide a weekly home to Ben Spalding’s ‘Stripped Back’ experience plus some of the capital “best loved food and drink traders” over the next three months starting this Friday at 5pm.

Additional features of the new Kingsland Road venue will be a specialist indoor cocktail bar known as The Gin Store, with bookable tables and boasting 10 specialist gins alongside other drinks.

The yard itself will feature a number of traders including Big Apple Hot Dogs, Mama’s Jerk Station, Rainbo and Bleecker Street Burgers.

As well as the regular Friday street food offerings the venue will also boast more, one-off special food and drink events.

Spalding, who has had stints at Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck and Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir,a dnw as most recently at John Salt, said: “Even from just walking around the merchant yard site, I was immediately drawn to the mezzanine part where Stripped Back will operate. The space, resources and everything about it means the food and experience will be improved further.

“The aim of my team and I is to cook food as interesting and of an equally high standard that you could find in any London restaurant. The difference being customers will be outside and will pay a fraction of the price. We will lose none of the charm that made Stripped Back such a success last summer. Once again it is an absolute pleasure to be involved with Street Feast and a chance to eat the food and meet all the awesome traders who make Street Feast what it is.”
