New launch Bacchanalia is a novel concept for Caprice Holdings and a unique offer in London, MD Richard Clark tells MCA.

Richard Caring’s Caprice Holdings will launch Bacchanalia in Mayfair later this year, offering an eclectic Mediterranean menu, cult Italian wines and cocktails, a private dining room, outdoor terrace, DJs and live performances, and a members-only club called Apollo’s Muse. Reservations go live on 31 October.

“Bacchanalia is a brand new concept and something that I do not think has ever been done before in London, let alone Mayfair,” Clark says. “We are blending a mixture of exceptional Greek and Italian cuisine, exquisite wines, and breathtaking works of art.”

While the focus is currently on the Mayfair site, the group will consider expanding the concept in the future, according to Clark.

“Bacchanalia is a project that Mr. Caring has been wanting to do for many years, but it was not until the right building became available that he could begin creating a vision,”he adds.

Caprice Holdings is also keeping “ears and eyes open” for an opportunity to expand seafood restaurant Scott’s from its existing two sites.

“We are very pleased with how the opening of Scott’s Richmond has gone,” he says. “We have incredibly loyal guests who have been dining in Scott’s for many years which means our expansion in Richmond was carefully considered.

“The site overlooking the Thames was capable of curating the Scott’s experience which was why it was a natural progression for the brand.”

Clark also mentions he is “excited about the future” for the Sexy Fish brand, with sites in London and Miami trading well.

“There is nothing planned but we are always looking for great opportunities if the right property presents itself…the offering appeals to a wide market and our recent expansion in the US has shown that it works in an international demographic as well.”

Despite the Bacchanalia concept’s celebration of indulgence and excess, Clark comments the business is helping to support the sector as well as the public amid the cost of living crisis.

“Caprice Holdings is proud to be investing into the hospitality industry and creating jobs at a time when there is uncertainty.”
