Crisp sandwich and bacon butty fans rejoice: white bread is back. Just ask fashion’s favourite chef, Jackson Boxer, who served slices of Warburtons finest for breakfast at his residency at the Corner restaurant in Selfridges recently.

Despite preferring Hovis, the Instagram-famous chef Whyte Rushen is into it too, trotting it out at supper clubs alongside sea urchin, whipped monkfish liver and yuzu (talk about high-low). Is this the trend gods giving us justification to kill that £4.50 sourdough habit? We’ll take it.
