The Cornish Bakery has secured a new site in Hastings, East Sussex, which will see the bakery food to go chain reach 44 sites.

The sale, completed via Christie & Co, sees the bakery chain take on the former Latham’s Brasserie on George Street.

The main trading area is split across two levels, with space for 55 covers.

The Cornish Bakery currently has 42 sites in the UK and one in Gibraltar, with continued expansion planned.

James Hughes, senior business agent at Christie & Co’s Maidstone office, said: “We had plenty of interest with a high number of viewings and several offers but in the end, we agreed a sale to a very strong corporate covenant.”

The Cornish Bakery rebranded from Pasty Presto in 2015 before embarking on a roll-out plan.
