Subway has announced it is planning to open a further 15 sites in Kent and Surrey by the end of the year, and an extra 20 between 2019 and 2010, taking its total in the region to more than 125 outlets.

Expansion in the South East of England forms part of its plan to boost store numbers to 3,000 nationwide, by 2020, from its current total of c2,500.

Regional development agent Hemina Haque said Subway had ambitious plans to grow Subway in the area. “We believe there is still plenty of room to grow the Subway brand in Kent and Surrey,” she said.

Haque recently brought Subway’s new format Fresh Forward Subway to the region, opening in Neats Court retail park in Queenborough last month, followed by a second site in Maidstone. Further Fresh Forward stores are planned as part of it development in the area.
