Miso plans to expand to five Japanese and Chinese noodle restaurants in the next three years.

It opened its first site in Bromley, Kent, in January. It second will follow at Haymarket, central London, next month.

It is in talks to open a third that will specialise in sushi at the Bass Hotels & Resorts-owned Crowne Plaza hotel that is being built in the City of London.

Miso's owner and founder, Olgun Remzi, compared the current fashion for

noodles to the days of pizza 15 years ago.
