MCA’s 2021 Food to Go Conference will be broadcast live tomorrow (23 March) featuring exclusive interviews with leading operators including McDonald’s, Leon, Pret A Manger and Greggs.

The programme will be streamed online from 9.30am and promises to be a must-attend event for senior operators, suppliers and investors.

Food to go was the fastest growing segment of the eating out market pre-pandemic, valued at £21.3bn in 2019 (source: Lumina Intelligence). Since then operators have struggled with severe operating restrictions as well as issues around footfall, finance, people and property.

In this virtual session for 2021, leaders from of the largest operators in the food to go sector discuss their innovative solutions and vision for the future.

Jason Clark, senior vice president, chief operations officer, McDonald’s UK and Ireland will share how the fast-food giant’s focus shifted to digital channels during the pandemic and the other ways in which McDonald’s has innovated its offer to counter the impact of restaurant closures.

While Clare Clough, UK managing director, Pret will discuss the brand’s rapid evolution into a multichannel business, and how the past 12 months have seen a sharper focus on digital.

The programme also includes exclusive interviews with Roger Whiteside, chief executive, Greggs, Shereen Ritchie, managing director, Leon UK, and Richard Morris, managing director, Tortilla.

There will also be insight sessions from Lumina Intelligence, marketing and data specialists CACI and Allegra Group. While the hot topics of finance and property will be discussed during two separate panel sessions.
