Leon is to launch a value hot meal deal in its restaurants next week in response to feedback from guests that 30% are on a stricter budget.

The £3.99 rice pot and drink deal will launch on 15 February, with two new rice pots introduced to Leon’s all-day menu: BBQ Chicken and Black Bean Chilli.

It follows a six-month trial of the new rice pots across 10 Leon restaurants.

The drinks included in the deal are: Karma Drinks regular-size draft soda or can, Dash Water, Trip CBD Infusions or Leon bottled still or sparkling water.

The ‘naturally fast food’ brand said the launch of a value focused deal came in response to changing guess needs.

It conducted a survey in April last year in which is asked almost 7,000 guests about their out-of-home habits and how much they have changed in the past 12 months, with 30% stating that their budget had shrunk.

Given the survey was launched prior to the cost-of-living crisis, Leon said it now expects that percentage to be even higher.

With Leon’s rice boxes a hero product it was keen to offer a version of the product at a more accessible price point.

Glenn Edwards, managing director of Leon Restaurants, said: “We always aim to serve naturally fast food made with the best quality ingredients for the most reasonable price, and the launch of the rice pots deal is another way to ensure this.

“We will continue to check in with our valued guests and respond to their feedback as it will only help us to bring accessible, well-loved dishes and innovations to our menu.”

The meal deal will be available in all Leon Restaurants, but will not be on offer at franchise partner locations across its travel hub and service station sites.
