QSR franchisee Soul Foods Group has reached the 400 site mark, with its portfolio of KFC, Taco Bell and Starbucks restaurant brands.

The family-owned business, was established in the UK but now also operates in Canada, with a growing team of over 7,500 employees.

Since being founded by the Janmohamed family as a single-store operator in 1985, Soul Foods Group has grown rapidly, and is among the top three largest franchisees of KFC and Starbucks in its chosen markets.

It has opened 8 new stores in the last quarter, of which 4 opened last week. This includes 4 Taco Bells, 2 KFC’s and 2 Starbucks.

The group’s mission is giving back to local communities, and its restaurants raise money for causes both globally and in the local regions it does business.

”Soul Foods Group value our team above all else and everyone from team members training new teams, RGM’s, Development, Operations, Finance, Payroll (never forget payroll) and HR in both Canada and the UK have delivered excellence to achieve this feat - we are so proud”, a company spokesperson said.

In the company’s latest published accounts, Soul Foods posted turnover of £108m for the period ending 26 June 2022.

Last year, the company received a structured minority investment from a consortium of investors to support its plans to double its number of restaurants in the UK and Canada over the next five years.

The company said that it would use funds from Centerbridge Partners, Metric Capital Partners, and OpCapita, for new site development, renovating existing site infrastructure and acquisitions.
