Subway, the fast-growing sandwich chain, has opened its 600th store in the UK, in Huntingdon - the home of the 4th Earl of Sandwich.
Operated by franchisee James Martin, the Cambridgeshire store was the 100th to open in just six months by the group.
It plans to open a further 1,400 UK outlets over the next five years.
Separately, the company was also named number one franchise for the 14th time in 18 years by Entrepreneur magazine.
