Domino's Pizza – the takeaway delivery company – announced yesterday that it plans to sell oven-baked sandwiches in a bid to boost sluggish US sales. The pizza company said the sandwiches will be available at all US stores for the cost of $4.99. Pizza sellers, which have been wrestling with weak US demand and higher costs, have been expanding their menus beyond just pizza. Domino's, the largest independent U.S. pizza chain, and its competitors Pizza Hut and Papa John's International already sell of breadsticks and chicken wings. Pizza Hut, a unit of Yum Brand, also added pans of pasta to its menu earlier this year.
