Chipotle, the US-based burrito chain, will open its second site in the UK this September in London’s Baker Street, as it continues to look at further opportunities to increase its presence in the UK. The chain, which is led by Jacob Sumner in the UK, is currently converting the old Halifax bank site in Baker Street into a 3,700sq ft restaurant that will be spread over two floors. The group, which opened its first site in the UK in Charing Cross Road last May, continues to is looking at multi-site and single site opportunities too further enhance its foothold in the country. M&C Report understands that the chain could be building towards a pipeline of up to 20 sites initially. The company, which operates close to 1,100 internationally, will open its first site in Paris this summer, and is also looking at opportunities in Germany.
