Barburrito, the Manchester-based Mexican-style casual dining chain, is to continue its expansion this year with the opening of its first site in the Midlands, after securing a site in Nottingham.

The group, which recently opened its first site in London at Paddington Station, is understood to have taken a site in the city centre for what would become its ninth site.

The Business Growth Fund (BGF)-backed company is to double its presence in Leeds this May, with the opening of a site in the city’s Boar Lane.

It also hopes to open another site in the capital this summer.

The seven-strong group received a £3.25m investment from the BGF last April to help it expand from six to c18 sites over the next four years

The chain, which was founded by Morgan Davies and Paul Kilpatrick, hopes to add sites in Liverpool and Birmingham.
