More than 2,000 people lost their jobs after First Quench’s administrators decided to shut 400 stores in the Threshers off-licence chain.
First Quench, the owner of Threshers, Wine Rack, Bottoms Up, The Local, Haddows and Victoria Wine chains, has cut 4,000 jobs since the business collapsed in October.
Punch and Whitbread expect a number of historical Thresher leases to return to them as a consequence of the company’s demise.
