State of Play Hospitality made a £11.2m loss last year, but during the same period secured £27m in new funding to finance its expansion.

The experiential leisure group, which operates Bounce, Hijingo and Flight Club USA, made revenue of £16.9m in the period to 27 March 2022 (2021: £11.5m).

Describing 2022 as “another difficult year”, which was impacted by Covid, the group made an EBITDA loss of £1.3m.

However, State of Play raised money from new existing shareholders, securing £27m during the period, and a further £8.5m subsequently.

The funds are being used to expand its portfolio of experiential leisure concepts in new and existing geographies.

The business, which is led by Toby Harris and includes Adam Breeden as an executive director, opened bingo concept Hijingo in London and a third US Flight Club in Houston during the period.

The group plans to continue rolling out its concepts internationally, and since the year-end a further two Flight Clubs have opened, in Las Vegas and Atlanta.
