Kings Park Capital (KPC) has announced new investment in STACK, the Boxpark-style bar, entertainment, leisure and all-day street food operator.

The undisclosed investment will be used to accelerate the North East-based 11-strong concept’s growth.

Specialist leisure investor KPC also backs Inn Collection Group alongside the Harris Family, and 7 Bone Burger.

Founded by Neill Winch, STACK launched in Newcastle in 2018 as a shipping container bar and food hall, drawing more than three million visitors before its closure in 2022.

The brand is poised to launch a new flagship site in Newcastle at Worswick Chambers in 2025, in a revitalisation of the historic Grade II listed building, featuring nine bars and ten street food units.

STACK Seaburn, which opened in 2020 during the pandemic attracts more than 600,000 visitors annually.

The concept is continuing its expansion with Middlesbrough scheduled to open in spring 2024, with Lincoln in construction and St James, a joint venture with Newcastle United to establish a Fan Zone by the stadium.

STACK’s expansion strategy consists of container parks in Carlisle, Manchester, and Sheffield together with several development projects aimed at repurposing vacant retail spaces in locations such as Lincoln, Durham, Bishop Auckland, Whitley Bay and Northampton.

Jamie Tillman, Partner at KPC said: “We are excited to be partnering with STACK and are committed to supporting Neill and his exceptional team in its ambitious expansion. We believe STACK’s unique leisure hubs will become landmarks in towns and cities throughout the UK.”

Neill Winch, managing director of STACK, added “teaming up with Kings Park Capital, a specialist investor in the leisure sector, is instrumental for our growth. This investment will enable our extensive pipeline of new STACK venues to become a reality.”
