KFC UK sales rose by 12% in Q4 2021, according to accounts filed in the US by parent company Yum! Brands.

The UK estate, which accounts for 7% of overall KFC system sales, saw a 38% rise in sales for the full year in 2021.

This was one of the highest growth territories in the global network, with the smaller India (+68%) and Middle East & North Africa (+40%) the only territories which saw high growth.

Worldwide system sales at Yum! grew 13%, with KFC at 16%, Taco Bell at 13%, and Pizza Hut at 6%.

The group added a record 4,180 gross units during the year contributing to 6% unit growth.

KFC opened 904 gross new restaurants during the quarter.

Taco Bell opened 195 and Pizza Hut opened 571.
