Hawksmoor has increased yearly turnover by over 20% to £90m in 2023, with its established restaurants delivering EBITDA margins in excess of 20%.

It marks a year of record turnover and profit for the steak restaurant company and certified B Corp.

During the year, Hawksmoor opened its second international restaurant in Dublin, which has hit weekly sales highs in excess of €230,000 (£196,211)

In 2024, Hawksmoor will open a 16,500 sq. ft restaurant in Chicago. This is the company’s second site in the US, following its restaurant in New York, and further builds on the team’s international strategy and ambitions.

Will Beckett, Co-Founder & CEO: “2023 was a stand-out year for Hawksmoor. While it’s always fantastic to deliver great numbers, what really motivates my co-founder Huw, me, and the rest of the team is demonstrating how financially successful restaurants can be when they strive to deliver real integrity at scale.

”Being a B Corp and achieving great growth and profits is something we’re all extremely proud of.”

Dame Karen Jones, Chair added, “Hawksmoor’s results are, again, excellent. They are a testament to an unswerving focus on our customers, the quality and strength-in-depth of the management team, and to Hawksmoor’s enduring appeal as an employer of choice.

“These are special restaurants, and Hawksmoor is a special business.”

Last year, Hawksmoor told MCA that it was actively looking at the US for further expansion opportunities, but was not willing to lose momentum in the UK.

While Hawksmoor Dublin opened earlier this year, other European cities will likely follow some years down the line.

Beckett feels the group has capacity to open two restaurants per year, albeit the strategy is still opportunity- rather than numbers-led.
