Comptoir Group has said its trading for the 52 weeks to 31 December 2018 was line with market expectation, with a strong finish to the second half of the year.
In its pre-close trading update this morning, the group said it retained a strong balance sheet and that the directors “continue to be excited by the prospect of the group”.
In its half-year trading update last September, the group announced losses of £421,096 for the six months to 30 June 2018 – down 20.7% on the previous half year. Revenue grew 19.8% to £15.7m and adjusted EBITDA was up 152% to £482,244.
During 2018, the group opened two additional Comptoir Libanais sites – in Birmingham (March) and London Bridge (November), as well as its second franchise site with HMS Host in Cheshire Oaks (November).
The company ended the year with 27 managed restaurants and four franchise sites. As previously announced, It has also agreed terms on two additional franchised sites with HMS Host in 2019 – Dubai Airport, which is due to open in March, followed by Ashford in Kent in June 2019.
