C&C Group, the producer of Magners cider, has unveiled a 13.6% fall in first half operating profit to Eu57.4m (£53.6m). The group, which also makes Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey and Irish Mist liqueur, said cider volumes for the period to 31 August 2009 were flat, with spirits & liqueurs volumes down 15%. C&C, which bought Tennents from AB-InBev last month, said operating profit for the year would be between Eu 77m to Eu82m. John Dunsmore, chief executive, said: “We remain on track to deliver on the objective of stabilised volumes and a full year operating profit outcome in line with our stated guidance.”
