Chilango, the Mexican fast-food concept, has already raised more than £207,000 of its £1m fundraising target after the first day its mini bond, or Burrito Bond, has been available on CrowdCube.

Early investors include Simon Kossoff and Frank Bandura - the CEO and CFO of Carluccio’s; Mike Dowell, former managing director of Costa Coffee; Laurie Morgan of McDonalds UK; Chris Moore, former CEO of Domino’s Pizza; Don Henshall CEO of Krispy Kreme UK; and former MD of Jamie Oliver International, Kevin Bacon.

The restaurant group is looking to raise £1m from the crowd funding platform using a new type of mini bond launched this week by CrowdCube.

Co-founder of CrowdCube, Luke Lang, said at the launch of the Burrito Bond that he has “never been more excited” about CrowdCube than he is at the moment.

Chilango plans to open another three restaurants in London this year having secured sites in Camden and Soho and are in legal discussion about on a further location in the city.
