The traditional pint jug looks set to be consigned to the scrap heap because Britain's last two glass manufacturers have gone into administrative receivership.

Ravenshead Glass and Demaglass will fold unless buyers are found, threatening higher pub prices and the extinction of the dimpled jug.

Pubs would be forced to buy glasses from overseas.
