Just Eat saw UK orders grow 24% in the first quarter – to 29.7 million – boosted by an extra 1.4 million orders from the acquisition of Hungryhouse.
In the three months to 31 March, group revenue increased 49% to £177.4m, driven by global order growth of 32% to 51.6 million and a greater proportion of higher value delivery orders in the mix.
In the UK the inclusion of part of the Easter holiday weekend added an estimated 1 percentage point to order growth.
The company reiterated its guidance that group revenue is likely to hit £600m to £700m this year with underlying EBITDA of £165m to £185m.
Chief executive Peter Plumb said: “Just Eat has had a strong start to the year. We delivered our 400 millionth order in the UK, grew well in Italy and Spain, whilst powering continued momentum in our Canadian delivery service SkipTheDishes.
“I’d like to welcome all our important new Restaurant Partners to the Just Eat family, including those from our successful recent acquisition of Hungryhouse.”
