Just-Eat, an online takeaway ordering service for restaurants, has acquired Fillmybelly.com, the UK’s third biggest provider of online takeaway, for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 2007, and based in Nottingham, Fillmybelly.com has 1,400 restaurant partners across the UK. As part of the deal Bertie Cordingley, Fillmybelly.com founder and owner, will continue to lead the day-to-day operations of the business. The Fillmybelly.com deal is the ninth acquisition Just-Eat has made since the beginning of 2011. The company now partners with over 11,000 restaurants in the UK alone. Cordingley said: “Online takeaway is a boom industry, and becoming part of Just-Eat means that we will benefit from being part of the UK leader. Our loyal customers, who have helped drive our growth, will benefit from the greater expertise and increased restaurant options that being part of Just-Eat will bring.” David Buttress, managing director of Just-Eat UK, said: “This acquisition cements Just-Eat's position as the only truly national online takeaway website, which means that our customers can enjoy the widest range of cuisines from thousands of restaurants across the country. Those restaurants know that partnering with us is the key ingredient to reaching customers in their local area.”
