Artisan doughnut concept Crosstown has launched its first location outside of London, with a delivery and collection hub in Cambridge.

The London-founded operator has taken the first floor above Steak & Honour burger restaurant on Wheeler Street in the city centre.

It is part of a wider multi-channel strategy that has seen Crosstown expand its product offering into ice cream, cookies, merchandise and gifts, as well as national delivery and plan for overseas expansion.

It is the third dark kitchen for the brand, after Battersea and Walthamstow, with online ordering and delivery managed by its sister company, white label solution Slerp.

Residents of Cambridge city centre will be able to order for collection or on-demand delivery in under an hour. Across the wider city, orders until midnight will be available for next day delivery.

Co-founder JP Then told MCA: “We have continued to evolve and innovate at Crosstown. Although the last 12 months have been challenging for the sector, we have kept our head down and pushed on with executing our business plan of expanding our product range, whilst looking for innovative, scalable ways to reach more customers, faster. I feel we are even better placed than we were as a business and the Crosstown brand is stronger than ever.”
