Tortilla, the Quilvest-backed fast-casual concept, has lined up a further two openings in the Middle East.
The 30-strong group, which made its debut in the region last month, with an opening at Dubai Festival City, expects to open a second site in the dining district of the soon-to-open Dubai Parks & Resorts, in Saudi Arabia, and by the end of this year, open its first outlet in the city of Riyadh.
Faysal Younes, CEO of eathos, the group’s partner in the region, said: “We are very pleased to be expanding the Tortilla brand throughout the Middle East. The Dubai Festival Mall location is just the first of many Tortilla outlets we plan to establish in the UAE.”
Earlier this summer, Tortilla chief executive Richard Morris told MCA that the company had plans to have four sites open in the Middle East by next May.
Morris told MCA that the company would then look to add four to five sites a year in the region.
The group signed a partnership deal with operating platform eathos last May to launch in the Middle East.
Morris expects to open up to nine new Tortilla stores this year in total, including the two in Dubai.
