Miles Templeman, the former director general of the Institute of Directors and non-executive chairman of YO! Sushi, is to become the new chairman of Chop’d, the salad bar chain, MCA has learnt.
Templeman, who is currently a non-executive director of Shepherd Neame, will take over from Chris Sanders, who has been with the 13-strong group for the last four years and played a key role in the growth of the business over that period.
At the same time, the company has secured its first sites in Manchester and Leeds. It also set to strengthen its 11-strong London estate after securing a site in Covent Garden.
The Eddie Holmes-led group has secured sites in Manchester’s Cross Street and the Central Village scheme in Leeds for openings later this year.
Last year, the company acquired the Salad Bowl - a complementary two-strong salad bar group in Liverpool.
MCA understands that the company is currently seeing like-for-like sales ahead by 12% in the year to date.
It is thought that the group is also in advanced talks on a further two sites in the West End.
