Taylor St Baristas, the coffee chain founded by the Tolley family, will further strengthen its estate in London, with the opening of a site in Holborn in March, M&C has learnt.

The eight-strong group, which is gearing up to open in New York this spring, has secured s unit in Holborn Gate, at the top of the Chancery Lane tube exit.

At the same time the company, which last year secured £1.8m through crowdfunding, is set to launch a coffee subscription business in April.

The company plans to have 30 sites by 2020 and raised £1.86m through the UK’s first crowd-sourced “Coffee Bond” last year.

Earlier this year, the Tolleys completed the sale of their stake in Harris + Hoole, the coffee chain they founded with Tesco, to the supermarket retailer for an undisclosed sum.

It is thought that Tesco will now explore a sale of the business.
