Supernatural, the London-based juice and smoothie bar, is eyeing regional expansion and multiple site formats, M&C has learnt.

The company, which currently operates four pop-ups around London as well as the flagship site in Canary Wharf, has plans to expand beyond the capital and will begin with key business centres such as Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Founder Dan Thompson told M&C the model will be adapted to suit different areas of London and the UK.

He said: “Our core service remains the same, however the store layout and customer requirements change so we have to adapt. At Paddington for example, we are offering more than just the juices there is a fitness offering downstairs with classes and events.”

Thompson said he is always looking for new areas and locations with a heavy footfall to utilise the site traffic into its stores as well as looking at pop-up events to showcase the brand to a large audience.

“What separates us from our competitors is the pace in which we can make fresh drinks, in a manner of seconds rather than minutes so big crowds are great for us,” Thompson said.

Supernatural has begun to operate popups at more mainstream events, including Morningloryville at Ministry of Sound that correlates with its own balanced brand ethos.

In July it launched a long-term pop up site at Sheldon Square in London’s Paddington that includes a 2,500sq ft space to run fitness and well-being classes that further enhance the brand’s healthy lifestyle ethos. As well as the Paddington site, Supernatural operates pop-ups at Great Portland Underground Station, St Pancras International and Old Street Underground Station.

Supernatural’s products range from £3.95 for smoothies and juices to £6.95 for its specials.
