Starbucks has opened its first outlet in Southern China, operated by Coffee Concepts, a Chinese coffee retailer.

The store, in Shenzhen, was opened by James Wu, the chairman of Coffee Concepts, Pedro Man, the president of Starbucks Coffee Asia Pacific and senior government representatives of the city of Shenzhen.

Man said: "As we celebrate the opening of our first store in Southern China today, we mark yet another key milestone in the history and tradition of more than 30 years at Starbucks".

Starbucks currently has more than 850 outlets in locations across Asia Pacific, including Japan, Singapore, Philippines and Thailand.
