Second Cup, the Canadian coffee shop-meets-casual-dining chain, has a further 10 locations in the pipeline to open in the UK before the end of next June, MCA understands.

The group, which operates more than 160 sites globally, currently has six units in the UK and will open its next location in London on Southampton Row at end of next week and in Swindon just before Christmas.

The company, which recently debuted in Cardiff, will open its first site in 2017, in February at Sheffield’s Meadowhall Shopping Centre.

The company is believed to have signed up 12 UK franchise partners so far, all of whom have agreed to operate between five to 10 stores at different locations.

It hopes to open 600 sites in total in the UK.

It currently also operates sites in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Putney and Harrow.

The group said it was actively seeking new regional franchise partners for additional area development within the UK.

The brand is believed to have signed a partnership development deal with an unnamed Saudi Arabian company to eventually open 10 sites in central London.

It operates across 37 regions and 27 countries.
