London-based Redemption Roasters has announced an upcoming equity crowdfunding campaign, to expand its 10-strong estate and e-commerce channel.

The world’s first prison-based coffee company, Redemption Roasters’ coffee is roasted behind bars in HMP the Mount, with every bag sold helping to reduce reoffending in the UK.

After opening its first shop on Lamb’s Conduit Street in 2016, the brand now operates coffee shops across London.

”We’re very excited to announce our upcoming equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. This is your exclusive opportunity to become more than just a Redemption Roasters customer”, a spokesperson for the company said.

The funds raised will enable the brand to expand its retail and e-commerce sales channels and ”scale” its impact.

The concept, led by Black Sheep Coffee co-founder Max Dubiel, previously launched crowdfunding in 2018, aiming to raise £300,000 in return for a 10.71% equity stake through Crowdcube.

The funds would go towards the opening of two new sites, including one in Covent Garden.
