Patisserie Holdings, the AIM-listed group, has launched an evolved version of Philpotts, its sandwich shop chain, in Manchester, which it plans to introduce to further new openings, MCA understands.
The new format site opened last week in the Spinningfields area of the city and Patisserie Holdings chief executive Paul May told MCA that although it was early days the group was encouraged by the response to the new site.
He said that the new store design has been developed in part to overcome the group’s existing 20-strong estate faced with queuing alongside the need for continual innovation.
May said: “We are cautiously optimistic about how the new look and design will perform. We hope to add a few further sites to the estate under the new format going forward.”
The day-to-day running of Philpotts is now being overseen by Doug Johnson, formerly operations manager for sister brand Patisserie Valerie.
Johnson now oversees Philpotts and Druckers.
