Mark Palmer has stepped down as marketing director at Pret A Manger, the Bridgepoint-backed group, MCA has learnt.

Palmer, the former marketing director of Green & Blacks, joined Pret in 2012, and will remain an advisor to the company.

Pret chief executive Clive Schlee told MCA: “We decided to combine our food and marketing departments under one brand director, Caroline Cromar. Mark remains a key Pret player, continuing to report to me but as a part time advisor to the Board.”

Cromar has held a number of roles at Pret including operations director and group director of food.

Palmer most recently oversaw the group’s trial of its “Evenings” format and the marketing behind its Veggie pop-up site.

He was also previously marketing manager at Burger King.
