A salad bar concept which began as a blog has secured a permanent site in Neal’s Yard and will open in March.

SaladPride began as daily blog by graphic designer David Bez in 2010 and amassed a strong following in excess of 50,000.

Bez launched a book, SaladLove, in 2014 and is now moving into his first permanent site.

The 333 sq ft site will have 12 covers and will offer unique salads made from fresh and organic ingredients, in addition to a range of health drinks, cakes and snacks.

The SaladPride café design features reclaimed wood, combined with natural herb pots complementing the food offer.

The café will also stock branded SaladPride products, such as dressings, drinks and selected dips from the menu.

Shaftesbury portfolio executive Charles Owen said SaladPride was exactly the type of brand they looked for at Seven Dials as part of their strategy to grow original and innovative concepts. “Neal’s Yard acts as the perfect location to nurture new brands and see them evolve; Homeslice being a prime example of this and we look forward to welcoming David’s exciting and healthy food to Seven Dials.”

SaladPride joins popular Homeslice pizza restaurant and international bar and restaurant Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels and recent additions to Neal’s Yard in 2015 including 26 Grains - the West Ends first grains-based café, and Free Range People bakery.

Davis Coffer Lyons acted for Shaftesbury. SaladPride represented themselves.

David Bezs is due to launch a second book ‘Breakfast Love’ on the 11th of February.
