Muffin Break, the FoodCo operated bakery café group, is launching a grab and go range instore at Birmingham’s Grand Central – its first site in a train station as it targets more transport hubs.
The company is planning to introduce the service to other Muffin Breaks across the country following the unit in the railway station and retail complex, which opens 24 September.
Muffin Break has a pipeline of 16 new venues planned for this financial year, which it said will include stores offering the Grab & Go service aimed at time-strapped commuters.
Lisa Brook, who has recently been appointed as general manager, said: “From meals served as takeaway options, to bundle meals featuring favourites such as sandwiches, jacket potatoes and soups: we are always searching for delicious new food options that are affordable and attractive to our customers. We are very excited to launch the new Grab and Go scheme and we look forward to introducing this service at a number of our stores across the UK.”
The Grab and Go stores will be serving favourite food options such as sandwiches, wraps, paninis, baguettes and a sweet selection as well as hot and cold drinks.
The company has said it is keen to add more Muffin Breaks at transportation hubs, following the opening of its first in Birmingham.
FoodCo launched Australian cafe brand Jamaica Blue into the UK at the end of 2014 in Cambridge. The brand was launched in Australia and been franchised into Malaysia, China, New Zealand, Singapore and the UAE.
