Le Pain Quotidien, the all-day bakery and café concept, saw turnover grow 11% to £38m for the year to 31 December.

Pre-tax profits fell from £987,000 in 2015 to £907,000 this year while the gross profit margin was 19.6%.

The group opened three stores during the period and has launched a further two so far this year, taking it to 30.

The group will today celebrate at its latest opening, in Monument, the milestone of becoming CO2 neutral across its estate.

2016 saw the group makes its first move outside of the capital – in Bicester Village. It also opened the Victoria Gate development in Leeds.
