Kamps, one of the leading bakery and café chains in Germany, has closed one of its two UK sites, M&C has learnt.

The group, which launched in the UK in 2013, has closed its site in Kensington Arcade.

The company, which still operates a site in Tottenham Court Road, said it was looking for an alternative unit near the closed outlet.

Last year, it announced plans to open 10 sites in London over the next three years before a possible expansion outside the capital.

It operates c550 sites across Germany.
