Itsu, the Julian Metcalfe-founded brand, has appointed Ganan Kanagathurai, formerly of Tesco Ventures, as its new UK chief financial officer, MCA has learnt.

Kanagathurai, who has also held roles at ABC television and, most recently, advising retail technology start-ups in San Francisco, will replace Landen Prescott-Brann, who is set to step down after four years with the company on 7 October.

An Itsu spokesperson told MCA: “It is with regret that we announce that Landen Prescott-Brann has taken the decision to leave Itsu. Landen is planning to take some time out before taking on a new role outside of Itsu. We would like to thank Landen for his service to Itsu and which him well for his future projects.”

Prescott Brann joined Itsu from the Hospital Club, the London-based creative hub, where he held the roles of chief executive and chief financial officer. He previously spent seven years with drinks firm PepsiCo, which included a stint as chief financial officer for the UK & Ireland.

Earlier this month, MCA revealed that Ivan Schofield has been appointed chief executive of Itsu UK Retail, with Cameron Roberts moving to head up the company’s new US subsidiary.

The group said Schofield, who was previously chief executive of Ed’s Easy Diner and managing director of KFC Western Europe, would continue to expand the brand across the UK.

Itsu US will launch its first site next year. New York and California have previously been mooted by founder Julian Metcalfe as possible debut US destinations for the brand.

The company recently opened a new 60-cover site in Heathrow Terminal 5.
