Hummingbird Bakery, the US-style cupcake chain, plans to open two new sites in Dubai at the start of next year and is currently looking for a sixth site in London.

The group, which is led by managing director Tarek Malouf, would also eventually like to open outside the capital but believes there is a bit of a logistical hurdle it still has to cros before doing so.

The group opened its first international store in the Dubai Mall last year.

It company plans to open further branches in Dubai, as part of a franchise agreement with Daud Arabian, anticipating that Hummingbird Bakery outlets could open in such locations as the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Lebanon over the next 10 years.
