High-end café concept Heavenly Desserts is eyeing sites in Ilford and Stratford as it looks to expand across London.

Yousif Aslam, managing director told MCA that the business, which is targeting 100+ sites nationwide, has signed up new franchisees in those areas. “They are actively looking for sites, and we are confident we will be able to locate a site for them very soon,” he said.

As previously reported by MCA, the Midlands-based business is set to open its first café in London, in Mile End, this summer. Aslam said the offer for the site, on Mile End Road, had now been accepted and was now in the legal process.

Heavenly Desserts currently has 12 sites in the UK, with openings lined up in Blackburn, Manchester, Sheffield and Colchester before the end of the summer.

In March, Aslam told MCA that the business planned to open “between eight and 10 stores per year”. “We have mapped out the UK and Ireland and have established there is the possibility for us to open 100-150 stores over the next decade,” he said.

The business is also looking to pilot a new kiosk format, which is designed for food courts and other shopping centre locations. “We are looking to pilot the first company kiosk next year, and then we will open that up for franchisees as an option as well,” he added.
