Grounded, the south west-based, independent group of café bars, is to continue its recent expansion push, with its first opening of 2018.

The company, which was founded in January 2008 by property developer Tobie Holbrook, will open its 12th site at the start of next month on the high street in Thornbury, Gloucestershire.

Last year, the company added three sites to its estate, with its latest opening being in Bridge Yard, in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire.

Last summer, it opened its ninth and tenth sites in Henleaze next to the Orpheus Cinema and in Chippenham on the former Riverside Wine Bar and Jax and Ruby’s nightclub unit respectively.
